Dance DJ

DJ Sonarm is a Midlands based Trance DJ (covering Leicester, Leicestershire, East Midlands and the UK) and is the performance slant on the Electronica and Dance music production guise of Sonarm. Trying to find new ways of delivering music in his DJ sets he enjoys being more creative than the average DJ throwing new ideas into the equation.

When performing he plays Electronic music ranging from funky and progressive Trance, through melodic and uplifting to Hard Dance incorporating the odd track with Techno, Electro or Tribal influences. He also tries to incorporate Breakbeat oriented tracks and more creative mixing techniques and ideas to add further eclecticism to his sets and to help give him that edge over the average Dance DJ without compromising on the overall enjoyment of the set.

DJ Sonarmon his preferred style"As a Dance DJ my preferred style of music to perform is definitely Trance music. The power of the melodies and sense of emotion that accompanies the crisp percussion and driving basslines. I plan my sets so they progress into something more powerful and uplifting than what I start with, whichever style of Trance I play."

With Dance music continually evolving DJ Sonarm tries to incorporate different styles of Trance music into his sets including works from unsigned artists and occasionally live instrumentation, trying to push the boundaries of the DJ as a generalisation and create a more 'live' atmosphere and a better aural and visual performance.

DJ Sonarm has also invented his own DJing technique known as 'freephasing', a different and manipulative take on phasing, and can occasionally be seen performed live during his DJ sets.
