Sonarm was approached by online business TV
channel ExpertsOnline.tv to do an interview as an industry expert in his field
giving answers to questions such as what effects has the arrival of broadband
had on music now that companies are turning their websites into multimedia
entertainment centres and how to deal with the knock-backs and walls you are
inevitably put up against when trying to get recognised in the industry.
DJ Sonarm has played in the main arena and one of
the side rooms at DeMontfort Hall, the biggest theatre venue in
Leicester, at which he was interviewed for and recorded for a local cable
television station, MATV, completely breathless after being dragged
around the whole building to the camera crew - seconds after finishing his first
set. At the same time, other collaboration half (Danielle Willows of Blue
Amber and Danni Jane) was whisked off to local BBC Radio studios for
a live interview and performance alongside Camilla Kent (vocalist in
Sonarm track, Glisten [The Touch of You] 2004).
DJ Sonarm has also set up and promoted several
of his own club nights around Leicester at venues including The Attik, Oxygen,
Sumo and The Charlotte, hiring DJs and promoting himself around the area. He has
also played at venues such as Starlight 2001 (2000 capacity), DeMontfort
University (600 capacity), and the Y-Theatre.
DJ Sonarm recently played a gig for the Tsunami
disaster as part of a 4-DJ team implementing 4 turntables, a CD turntable and a
sampler, remixing tracks live and giving a unique performance to musicians of
all backgrounds, talents and opinions, introducing the crowd to turntablism with
his first turntablist performance. See the
